USL W League Shares Expansion Update

USL W League has announced 20 members with more to come this month

TAMPA, Fla. – The USL W League has officially welcomed 20 clubs for its founding season following the announcements of 10 additional clubs during August, September, and early October. The league is poised for another strong period of expansion throughout the fall, beginning with two more club announcements next week.  

“With each club we officially welcome to the USL W League we grow more excited for our inaugural season,” said Betsy Haugh, USL W League Director of Operations. “We applaud the commitment these clubs are making to the women’s game and look forward to working with them to grow this league and provide more opportunities for players, coaches, fans, and communities.”

Since the W League’s last expansion update in August, the W League has welcomed 10 additional inaugural season clubs, including, FA Euro New York, Indy Eleven, North Carolina Fusion, Northern Virginia FC, Morris Elite SC, Peachtree City MOBA, South Carolina United FC, Southern Soccer Academy, Wake FC and most recently, Chicago City SC

The W League is expected to have more than 30 clubs competing in its inaugural season and will share divisional alignments once the membership for the 2022 season is finalized. 

As the W League prepares for kickoff in May 2022, fans can expect to see more news regarding the league’s career development program, partnership activations and operating policies in the coming months.
