Club to kick off play in women’s pre-professional league in 2022

ST. JOHNS, Fla. – The United Soccer League (USL) today announced Florida Elite Soccer Academy as the latest club to join the USL W League. Florida Elite Soccer Academy, a member of USL League Two’s pre-professional  men’s league, will join the USL W League on the women’s side in 2022.

“We are extremely excited for the opportunity to become a USL W League member and create opportunities for female athletes inside and outside of our club to play this game at the highest level,” said Sean Bubb, Executive Director of Florida Elite Soccer Academy. “This is a massive step for northeast Florida and the entire southeastern United States.”

Formed by the merging of two soccer clubs in 2014, Florida Elite Soccer Academy pledges to be a full-service soccer organization, committed to the growth of the sport. Over the past seven years, Florida Elite Soccer Academy has grown into one of the largest and most successful youth soccer clubs in Florida, securing multiple titles at the state, regional and national youth levels. The club is now looking to continue that success by establishing a competitive platform through the USL W League for its women’s senior team.

The club has fostered a player-centric approach with the goal of developing its players from the youth level to the pre-professional level and beyond. Focusing on each players’ individual development allows Florida Elite Soccer Academy to create a competitiveness within the club, helping its players grow as one to benefit the club as a whole. Through a unified approach to development, the club hopes to inspire each of its players to pursue a career at the next level of their game.

As a club that instills a dedication to excellence and teamwork, Florida Elite Soccer Academy seeks to promote the growth of women’s soccer and provide equal opportunities to all of its players. In joining the W League, Florida Elite Soccer Academy will provide its membership with a fully formed women’s pathway to the professional game while also creating growth opportunities for its coaches, staff and community.

“We are excited to see the addition of another strong club out of Florida,” said Betsy Haugh, USL Director of Women’s Soccer. “Florida Elite Soccer Academy has established itself as a leader in soccer across the state and the club’s mission of growing the women’s game perfectly aligns with the league’s ambitions to create more opportunities for athletes to pursue soccer careers at the next level.”
