Caledonia SC joins USL W League and USL League Two for 2022

Florida-based club will begin play in women’s and men’s pre-professional leagues this year

LAKELAND, Fla. – The United Soccer League today announced Caledonia SC as the latest club to join both the USL W League and USL League Two for the 2022 season. 

“We are thrilled to be joining the USL League Two and USL W League pathways,” said Jonathan Burns, Caledonia SC Technical Director. “Our club aim is to provide players with a quality environment to develop not only as athletes but to also develop as people. We are committed to creating equal opportunity within our franchise and demanding the highest levels of professionalism. Thank you to everyone who made this possible including the leadership at USL for their guidance. We cannot wait to get started.” 

The club’s mission is to foster playing and personal development by ensuring players are within a safe, professional and enjoyable environment. Caledonia SC strives to serve its community and provide entertainment through a quality brand of soccer.  

“We are thrilled to welcome Caledonia SC to the W League as we continue building out our footprint in the state of Florida,” said Betsy Haugh, USL Director of Women’s Soccer. “We’re excited by the club’s vision and look forward to working with them to grow the women’s game here in Florida.”  

In addition, Caledonia SC will join League Two’s Southeast Division beginning in the 2022 season, extending its player pathway to the men’s pre-professional realm for players at the elite collegiate level and top academy level. 

With the addition of Caledonia SC, all five W League clubs in the state of Florida for the 2022 season will have a men’s counterpart in League Two. 

“Caledonia SC will be a great addition to the Southeast Division for the 2022 USL League Two season,” said Joel Nash, Vice President of Youth & Pre-Professional. “We are excited to welcome them to the league and look forward to the continued growth League Two will provide for its players and community.”
