Florida-based club becomes latest club to join for 2022 season

TAMPA, Fla. & MIAMI, Fla. - The United Soccer League (USL) announced today FC Miami City as the latest club to join the USL W League for the 2022 season.

FC Miami City prides itself on developing its girls’ and women’s players in professional training and competition environments. The pathway created by the club aligns with the USL W League’s goal to grow the soccer landscape from youth to professional for its female athletes.

“We're excited to add a USL W League team to our ecosystem, emphasizing our commitment to providing pathways for players to progress through the ranks,” said Ravy Truchot, FC Miami City owner. “The addition of a W League team allows for us to expand and improve the pipeline of talented youth players, to increase their exposure to the professional and collegiate level in the U.S. Our USL W League team provides the opportunity for young women in South Florida to get the exposure they deserve and improve their game under our experience organization.”

The club joined USL League Two in 2014 and the USL Academy in 2021 and is excited to be the latest addition to the USL W League for the inaugural season. FC Miami City will also allow fans to attend both W League and League Two matches under their Free Entrance Policy, assuring no fan is turned away from a match.

“We are excited to welcome another club out of Florida,” said Betsy Haugh, USL Director of Women’s Soccer. “We look forward to the addition of FC Miami City and the added commitment to developing the women’s soccer pathway that they bring.”

FC Miami City is proud to offer equal training and playing facilities to both the men’s and women’s sides of the club with a campus designed with ideal conditions for athletes to continually progress. The academy program also benefits from these facilities allowing for more development and greater growth across all areas of the club.
