Waxhaw, NC - The United Soccer League today announced FC Carolinas as the latest club to join both USL W League and USL League Two, as well as establishing a USL Academy program.

“We are extremely excited to join the USL family!” said Dave Dixon, Director of Soccer at FC Carolinas. “Our goal at FCC will always be to provide the best opportunities for our players to develop and reach their full potential.  Being a part of the USL Network gives our players opportunities and access to the game at the highest level.”

The club’s mission is to provide high quality soccer opportunities at all levels of play for area youth, and to serve as a valuable community partner.

"We are absolutely delighted to welcome FC Carolinas to the USL landscape,” USL VP of Youth and Pre-Professional Development Joel Nash said. “That region of the country has already shown such passion for soccer, and we know the support for FC Carolinas is going to be just as intense. We can’t wait to see what the club accomplishes.”

“I’m so excited that we will be adding a USL W League team to our club,” Lisa Buckley, Girls’ Director of Coaching at FC Carolinas. “The ability to provide role models for younger female players is integral to keeping them in the sport. Young players need to be able to see what is attainable here at FCC.”

FC Carolinas has already established themselves in the regional youth scene, sending multiple players to play for collegiate programs. Founded in 2018 by Jorge Herrera and David Broxton, the club’s rise has been rapid, already completing the first phase of a multiple-part stadium development project. Players will be able to train and play on soccer-specific turf fields with lights and stadium seating, with a dedicated turf training area for keepers and individual training.

FCC will join the W League, League Two and Academy competition beginning play in the 2023 season.

Information about the club’s USL branding and identity will be announced at a later date.
