STOCKTON, Calif. – The USL W League’s first California expansion franchise unveiled its official team crest and identity: Stockton Cargo Soccer Club. 

The “Cargo” moniker pays homage to, and is inspired by, the Port of Stockton, which has been integral to the city of Stockton since its inception in the mid-19th Century. The colors of Sporting Green and Stockton Blue represent Stockton’s rich Portuguese Heritage along with its connection to the sea via the port. 

The logo itself, a cargo ship intertwined with pitch markings, represents the connection between the city and its soccer community, while the two stars that sit on each side of the team name are inspired by the city’s flag and seal. Finally, the shield crest represents Stockton’s strength and toughness, with the bottom portion of the crest acting as the ship’s hull. 

“Today is a great day for soccer in Stockton, and women’s soccer on the West Coast!” said Lee Neves, President and CEO of the Stockton Cargo Soccer Club. “Our Official team name and crest is so reflective of Stockton and our rich heritage and history.” 

Stockton Cargo SC will take the pitch in 2023, when the USL W League's second season kicks off. 

Founded in 2021, Stockton Cargo SC's mission is to provide first class sports entertainment for the City of Stockton, as well as the San Joaquin Valley. The club is eager to provide opportunities that were not previously available for Stockton’s untapped talent.
