Check out these six incredible storylines from Week 3

The competition in the W League is heating up early this season with stoppage time comebacks, perfect 4-0 starts and an USWNT legend joining for the season.

Check out the week 3 storylines below:

Glens stay perfect

The Olympic Club started stronger against the undefeated Glens, finding the back of the net in the ninth minute – which is the only time an opponent has scored against the Glens all season. However, after 20 minutes the floodgates would open and the Glens would net 6 unanswered goals, cementing the club atop the NorCal Division standing at 4-0.

Birmingham thrills in stoppage

Reigning W League champs South Georgia Tormenta thought they were cruising to their first victory of the season after being up 1-0 after 90 mins. However, expansion side Birmingham Legion WFC spoiled the occasion by scoring two stoppage time goals, giving the Three Sparks the victory in their first-ever W League match.

Heather O’Reilly joins the W

Last week NC Courage announced their W League squad added United States Women’s National Team legend Heather O’Reilly. O’Reilly is a FIFA Women’s World Cup champion, as well as a three-time Olympic gold medalist. O’Reilly started for the Courage helping lead the team to the 3-0 victory over the Charlotte Independence.

History repeating itself in FL?

The Southeast Division currently has two unbeaten teams – Tampa Bay United and FC Miami City. Last season those two clubs battled for the division top spot with Miami City claiming the title in the last match of the season, securing a spot in the 2022 playoffs. Will history repeat itself?

Cal Storm makes a statement

Cal Storm took on Pleasanton RAGE in what was both of the clubs' first match of the season. The Storm went into the break up 1-0, but then the floodgates opened, and the club scored seven second half goals, securing their first-ever W League victory. Cal Storm now joins SF Glens and Oakland Soul as the remaining undefeated teams in the NorCal Division.

Minnesota joins the party this week

The 2022 USL W League runners-up are getting into the action this week. Aurora will host expansion-side Rochester FC on Wednesday, May 24 at TCO Stadium. Aurora are looking to recreate the magic they found both on and off the field last season.
