Power Rankings May 30: Glens stay on top with a perfect 5-0 start

Cal Storm breaks into top 5, Minnesota starts strong

This week's Power Rankings feature the same team in the top spot, but after some incredible play to begin their respective seasons, a handful of teams have thrust themselves onto the top 15 such as Cal Storm, Minnesota Aurora, and McLean Soccer. 

SF Glens continued their strong start to the season with an additional W bringing their perfect record to 5-0-0. The top five is rounded out by NC Courage U23s, Indy Eleven, Tampa Bay United and Cal Storm.

San Francisco Glens SC

SF Glens has retained the top spot for the second week in a row after downing Stockton Cargo 4-1. In the affair the Glens showcased the team’s wide-array of scoring threats with all four goals coming from different players. Friday night will be massive as the Glens take on divisional rival and current #5 Cal Storm. Who will come out on top?
NC Courage U23

NC Courage U23 squad has continued to look sharp with a 3-1 victory over Asheville City. Academy Cup standout and Duke commit Phoebe Goldthwaite has netted a goal in both of the Courage’s last matches.
Indy Eleven

v. Racing Louisville FC

The Girls in Blue played in a tight 1-0 victory over old foes Kings Hammer this past week. Sam Dewey and Maisie Whitsett both lead the way in scoring for Indy with three goals apiece. Indy will face a tough challenge next when the team takes on Racing Louisville for the first time this season.
Tampa Bay United

TBU did not see action since the last set of Power Rankings was released as their clash with Palm City was postponed due to inclement weather. The team will face Florida Elite Soccer Academy on Wednesday night with hopes to stay perfect.
California Storm

Cal Storm has looked sharp since opening their season with a 8-0 victory against the Pleasanton RAGE. Since then the team has gone on to earn a 2-1 victory over the Stockton Cargo and a 4-0 win over the Olympic Club. Cal Storm have an important match ahead as they face #1 SF Glens Friday night.
Minnesota Aurora FC

v. RKC Third Coast

Minnesota was one of the last teams to start the season in 2023, however the team picked up right where they left off last season. Off to a 2-0-0 start, Aurora has scored nine goals and has yet to allow a goal against. They take on RKC Third Coast Wednesday night.
McLean Soccer

@ Patuxent Football Athletics

McLean Soccer was another strong team from last year who is settling right in to the 2023 season with two convincing and commanding 7-0 victories over Patuxent and NOVA. McLean will take on Patuxent in a midweek matchup with Wednesday.
Oakland Soul SC

v. Stockton Cargo SC

Oakland Soul added another victory to their resume with a 4-0 victory over Academica SC with all four goals coming from a different goal scorer. Up next Soul takes on Cal Storm in a home and away series.
Long Island Rough Riders

Long Island Rough Riders find themselves on the Power Rankings for the first time after three impressive and commanding matches to open the season. With 20 goals for and only two goals against, the Rough Riders are only second to the top ranked Glens in goal differential. Up next, Long Island will face expansion side Paisley Athletic.
Flint City AFC

Flint City gained their third win of the season with a 6-2 win over AFC Ann Arbor. Isabella Gaetino is atop the scoring column for Flint with four goals across five matches. In their next match, Flint will face Cleveland Force for the first time.
