Power Rankings June 20: No movement at the top, Oly Town jumps 7 spots

Indy suffers first-ever regular loss, Eagle continues to impress

We are less than two weeks away from the conclusion of the USL W League regular season and the playoff race is heating up!

This week we saw our first two clubs, Flint City AFC and Tampa Bay United, clinch playoff berths after excellent, unbeaten seasons in the USL W League. 

This week in the rankings SF Glens continue to reign at the top of the power rankings and have not budged all season. Minnesota and Tampa Bay stay in the second and third place respectively for the second week in a row after strong performances this past week.

Tampa Bay United clinched the Southeast Division title with the team’s 2-0 win over Florida Elite Soccer Academy. Goalkeeper Bailey Herfurth has been lights out between the sticks for TBU, with the team’s most recent result becoming TBU’s eighth consecutive shutout win this season.

Flint City AFC became the first team to clinch a playoff berth in the 2023 USL W League playoffs this weekend when they secured an impressive 5-0 victory over Detroit City FC. Both Olivia Thomas and Team of the Month midfielder Isabella Gaetino found the back of the net within the first ten minutes, scoring within just two minutes of each other.

NC Courage continues to lead the South Atlantic Division, adding to their win column this past week with victories over FC Carolinas and Charlotte Independence. The Girls in Blue rebounded with a convincing win over Kings Hammer FC, coming off a brace from 2022 Team of the Year Second Team selection Maddy Williams and an incredible free kick strike from defender Grace Bahr.
