Would your team make the cut?

We are about two weeks away from the start of the first round of the USL W League Playoffs. The level of play has been fierce this season. Will the top teams below hold on to claim their respective division and a playoff berth? Or will another team come from behind to steal the top spot?

Three spots have been clinched, but 13 remains up for grabs.

Check out the first ten in if the playoffs started today below! In addition to each divisional playoff berth, with the expanded playoff structure this season, six additional playoff berths will be available through wild card bids. Keep an eye out for wild card scenarios in the next week and read up on the full playoff structure here.

Who's in as of today:

South Central Division: Chattanooga Red Wolves SC

With 22 points and a 7-2-1 record, the Chattanooga Red Wolves currently sit atop the South Central Division. Chattanooga had the chance to clinch in the team’s matchup against Tennessee, however, TSC stunned the Red Wolves with a 2-0 victory. Chattanooga's next chance to clinch comes if Tennessee drops points in their next match.

Southeast Division: Tampa Bay United

Tampa Bay United has looked strong all season, downing each divisional opponent at least once and riding a 10-match undefeated season. After TBU’s 2-0 result over Florida Elite, TBU clinched the divisional top spot and secured a place in the 2023 USL W League Playoffs.

South Atlantic Division: NC Courage U23

NC Courage U23 became the third club to secure a playoff spot, when the team bested the Greenville Liberty 3-1 in their latest matchup. NC Courage clinched the divisional top spot with the win, and is looking strong heading into playoffs with a 8-0-1 record.

Mid Atlantic Division: Eagle FC

Eagle has looked undeniably strong this season sitting atop the Mid Atlantic Division with 27 points and a perfect 9-0-0 record. The team has beaten divisional rival McLean Soccer twice this season, which is an impressive feat as the team failed to beat McLean last season. Eagle has a margin of nine points over Christos FC and has the ability to clinch a playoff berth if the team wins their next match.

Metropolitan Division: Long Island Rough Riders

The Metropolitan Division is one of the most wide-open divisions in the league currently with Long Island Rough Riders sitting at 24 points and rival Morris Elite SC within striking distant at 22 points. If the playoffs started today, Long Island would be in, however, with three games left a lot could still happen. Who do you think will clinch the Metropolitan Division?

Great Lakes Division: Flint City AFC

Flint City AFC became the first team to clinch a playoff berth this season after the team made a strong statement, easily handling Detroit City FC 5-0 in the club’s last match. Flint City’s undefeated season has been an incredible turnaround from last season, when the team ended dead last in the Great Lakes Division with only 7 points.

Valley Division: Indy Eleven

The Valley Division has been a battle between Indy Eleven and Racing Louisville all season, however, Indy currently has the three-point lead over Racing heading into the homestretch. Indy has a game in hand and owns the head-to-head series against Louisville. Indy will be able to claim division if they continue their winning ways, and Racing Louisville drops points somewhere in their remaining matches.

NorCal Division: SF Glens SC

The NorCal Division has thrilled since day one with the SF Glens, Cal Storm and Oakland Soul all competing at an incredibly high level. The standings, while tight at the beginning, have begun to shake out with SF Glens pulling away with 27 points, a 9-0-0 record, and wins over both Soul (24) and the Storm (21). The Glens are currently in the driver's seat of the NorCal Division, where they can clinch a playoff berth with a win over Cal Storm in their next match, but they can clinch the division and playoffs if they win their next two matches.

Heartland Division: Minnesota Aurora FC

Minnesota Aurora have soared to the top of the Heartland Division with a shining 9-0-0 record and a league-leading +43 goal differential. If the playoffs were to start today, Minnesota would most certainly be a shoo-in with their perfect record. Aurora’s game plan this season has always been to return to the W League Final, and they can officially clinch the division with a win in their next match.

Northwest Division: Oly Town FC

The Northwest Division’s top spot is still largely up for grabs, however, if the playoffs started today Oly Town FC would claim the divisional top spot and claim the playoff berth with their head-to-head win over current second place team United PDX. Oly Town currently sits atop the division with a 5-0-1 record and match in hand over United PDX who sits at 4-1-1, with their one loss coming from Oly Town. To officially clinch the division and a playoff berth, Oly Town needs to win their next 2 matches, OR win their next match AND United PDX drops points.

Six wild card spots are also up for grabs.
