The league's Florida division continues to grow

MELBOURNE, Fla. - The United Soccer League today announced the addition of Brevard SC Riptide as an expansion side for the 2024 season.

The club’s mission is to provide players within the Brevard County community a home to develop and compete on a national stage. Their hope is to source and develop local talent to further their professional soccer careers.

“We adopted the phrase ‘Beyond Futbol’ to express that our passion for this sport is out of this world,” Brevard SC President Wudson Fenelon said. “The commitment and love for the sport is deeply rooted in this club.”

“It’s exciting to welcome Brevard Riptide to the W League for the upcoming season,” said Amanda Vandervort, USL Super League and W League President. “The league has built a robust presence in the state of Florida, and we look forward to a competitive Southeast division in 2024.”

Brevard Riptide will compete in the W League’s Southeast Division in the 2024 season with long-time coach Christofer Felber at the helm. The team will compete in the Southeast Division.

“A women's team is one of the biggest steps in elevating Brevard County soccer,” said head coach Chris Felber. “Wudson and I crossed paths and found ourselves with a very similar mindsight and now we are working together to create a successful and exciting program that can serve Brevard County. Brevard SC Riptide is here and I could not be more excited!”

Brevard SC has existed as Brevard Fire for three years, competing in other national adult leagues and moving multiple players into the professional ranks.

Brevard SC also fields a League Two team which completed its first season in the league this summer.
