ORLANDO, Fla. - Today the USL announced that Brooke House FC will begin play in USL League Two and the USL W League in 2024.
The club will be led by former Premier League player Lawrie Dudfield, in conjunction with the club’s youth academy and with Brooke House College in Market Harborough, England.
Brooke House also operates a full-time soccer academy, with the goal of nurturing and developing budding soccer talents in Florida and in England.
“We’re excited to be able to offer the opportunity for players to access the complete pathway,” Dudfield, the club general manager, said. “From student to professional, we want our players to reach an elite level, and these competitions provide our organization the chance to do that.”
The club’s plans to promote promising academy talents to their Lions and Lionesses senior teams, as well as sourcing players from the Orlando area and the Brooke House England academy.
“Lawrie and Brooke House have an established history of providing opportunities for talented young players to become professionals,” Joel Nash, USL SVP of Youth and Pre-Professional Properties, said. “We’re incredibly excited to welcome them into what is already an extremely competitive pre-professional scene in Florida.”
Former players in the Brooke House system have gone on to sign for Galatasaray, Genk, and a host of other professional clubs around the world. This will be the first season the club will feature an established women’s senior team.
