Central Florida club to take the pitch next season

TAMPA, Fla. - The United Soccer League today announced the addition of Nona FC to the W League. The club will begin league play in 2025.

Nona FC was born out of the prestigious Nona Soccer Academy in 2022, when they joined USL League Two. After two successful seasons, the club is now creating a pathway to professional soccer for women in Central Florida.

"It is a huge statement to our commitment to our girls program at Nona Soccer Academy, and a promise to continue to deliver the excellence and standards we have shown in League Two, to the women’s pathway in our league,” Fabio Silva, President and CEO of Nona FC, said. “We are excited to be part of the W League family and look forward to being a home to young women all over the world here in the heart of Central Florida.”

With teams already in USL Academy and League Two, adding a W League team provides all players for Nona a chance to experience a full development pathway, culminating in senior team soccer.

“We’re so excited that Nona FC will be fielding a team in the W League next year,” Amanda Vandervort, President of the USL W League, said. “It’s always great to expand our footprint, especially in Florida, and Nona will be a great addition to the league.”
