Opening weekend, upcoming macthes you won't want to miss

The third W League season kicked off last weekend, marking the start of a summer full of soccer. 

Catch up on a few storylines below and be sure to check for when your team plays next

2 down, 463 to go

The NorCal Division opened the season with two matches last weekend, starting with the Olympic Club earning a comeback 2-1 win over Academica SC. Stockton Cargo SC hosted Oakland SC on Sunday, and despite both teams battling back and forth, the match ended in a scoreless draw. 

Richmond rises to the top

Richmond Ivy SC won 2024 Best New Crest for the W League after dominating the voting polls the last two weeks. The new club will begin its inaugural season at home this Saturday, May 11 at 6 p.m. when it hosts Virginia Marauders FC. 

Southeast showdown

Expansion clubs Tallahassee Reckoning and Brooke House FC will begin their inaugural seasons against each other on Wednesday, May 8 at Gene Cox Stadium. The Florida sides are two of three new clubs added to the Southeast Division for the 2024 season. 

Reviving rivalry

Flint City AFC will begin the 2024 W League season on Saturday, May 11 against Detroit City, a matchup that now has two years of history. Last season, the clubs played to two draws before Flint City earned a 5-0 victory on the road in mid-June.  

What's happening in Houston

Kicking off the action in the new Lone Star Division will be AC Houston Sur and Lonestar SC on Saturday, May 11. The sides will be the first of the five new Texas clubs within the division to add even more talent to the Southern Conference.
