The 2024 W League season is in full swing following an action-packed slate of matches over the past few days. From sold out crowds to sensational goals, let’s look back on some of the top storylines from last week:
Oakland Soul SC put on a show in front of a sold-out crowd at Meritt College Soccer Stadium on Sunday. Over 3,500 fans packed the stands on a beautiful California afternoon to watch the Soul score seven goals against the Olympic Club. The win moved Oakland to the top of the NorCal Division standings.
Tennessee SC started its season off with a 4-1 win over Chattanooga Red Wolves led by a hat trick from Maddie Padelski. The striker put Tennessee on the board early by scoring in just the second minute. She added on two more in the second half, along with setting up Anna Haddock for Tennessee’s fourth goal of the match.

City Stadium was the place to be on Saturday night, as a sold-out crowd of 6,000 showed up to watch Richmond Ivy SC’s first-ever home match. After a back-and-forth battle, Richmond’s Brianna Behm broke through in the 84th minute with the game winner, sending the stands into an eruption of cheers.

Age is just a number for Tallahassee Reckoning’s Kendall Sadberry. As the youngest player on the roster, the 14-year-old put the exclamation point on the team’s 2-0 win over Brooke House FC by scoring the second goal of the night. Sadberry made a run into the box and blasted a shot near post past the keeper to help earn the Reckoning’s first-ever club win.
