W League Power Rankings: Week 3

Tennessee continues to shine, Detroit and Lexington move to top 5

Nearly every club has made its 2024 W League season debut, and some performances from last week shook up the standings. Tennessee SC has taken over the No. 1 spot while Stockton Cargo SC has leapt its way up to second place. 

Here’s how the top 15 stack up:

3 Florida Elite Soccer Academy

Florida Elite has been a force in the Southeast Division, starting its season with three strong victories in a row. Florida Atlantic University goalkeeper Lexi Gonzalez has recorded clean sheets in each match, and nine different scorers have contributed to 20 goals.

Two braces from Lexington’s Katelyn Fishnick and Kailey Utley secured a second consecutive 4-0 win over St. Charles FC last week. Lexington remains strong sitting at the top of the Valley Division.
5 Detroit City FC

Detroit City FC has taken down a strong Flint City AFC side twice in a row to start the season, most recently earning a 2-1 victory at home. Aubree Ciampa scored a brace to get Detroit the lead, and despite a late comeback attempt from Flint City, Le Rouge came away with another three points
6 Wake FC

Wake FC earned its second shutout win on Saturday after defeating SC United Bantams 2-0. Wake took an early lead off a goal from Ryder Perry, and Allyssa Turner followed up her shot that hit off the post to secure the win in the 87th minute.
7 Flatirons FC

Next match: @ Colorado Storm, 5/21 7:00 p.m. MT


Entering as the only expansion club in the top 10, Flatirons FC take the seventh spot after defeating CISA twice last week. Flatirons followed up the 6-1 win in its home opener with a 5-0 victory on the road in the first two Mountain Division matches.
8 South Georgia Tormenta FC

Next match: vs. NC Courage, 5/26 6:00 p.m. ET


The 2022 W League champions started this season on a high note with a 5-0 win over Fayetteville Fury and then battled to a 1-1 draw against last year’s runners-up NC Courage U23. Tormenta’s ability to take home four points on the road earns it the No. 8 spot.

The New Jersey based club came out strong last weekend for its first match of the season. Morris Elite netted 14 goals against AC Connecticut with seven different players getting on the scoresheet.
10 Tampa Bay United

Another club to open its season on a high note last weekend was Tampa Bay United. TBU took down Tallahassee Reckoning 10-0 at home for its first win of the season.
