W League Power Rankings: Week 5

California Storm, NC Courage make debuts in top 10

Multiple clubs remain undefeated as we enter the second half of the 2024 W League season. Tennessee SC, Florida Elite and Detroit City once again come in at the top three spots of the Power Rankings, while California Storm and NC Courage U23 make their first appearances on the list.

Last weekend, the club went on the road to face Greenville Liberty and came out with a 3-1 victory thanks to a brace from Maddie Padelski and a goal from Brenlin Mullaney just minutes after entering the match.
2	Florida Elite Soccer Academy (6-0-0) Next match: vs. Palm City Americanas, 6/05 3:00 p.m. ET	1 Last Week: 3	Florida Elite is on track to have its best season in its W League history after it picked up another win over Brooke House FC on Saturday. The club has scored 41 goals in six matches while only conceding twice.
3	Detroit City FC (4-0-0) Next match: @ Kalamazoo FC, 6/04 7:00 p.m. ET	1 Last Week: 2	Detroit City earned its fourth straight win after defeating Cleveland Force 1-0 at home last weekend. Le Rouge fired over 20 shots during the match, but the blast from Sophia Romine nearly 30 yards out proved to be the game winner and enough to move the team to the top of the Great Lakes Division.
4	Eagle FC (4-0-0) Next match: @ Virginia Marauders FC, 6/06 7:00 p.m. ET	Last Week: 4	Eagle FC continues to shine as one of the most well-rounded clubs in the league. It remains the only club yet to concede a goal this season, while 10 different players have scored the team’s 20 goals from the past four matches.
5	Long Island Rough Riders (4-0-0) Next match: vs. Manhattan SC, 6/05 7:30 p.m. ET	2 Last Week: 7	The Rough Riders have earned four straight victories all against different opponents to start the season. They are averaging eight goals per match, led by league leader Lucianna Setteducate with nine goals.
6	California Storm (3-0-1) Next match: @ Marin FC, 6/05 4:00 p.m. PT		California Storm have climbed to the top of the NorCal Division after earning two wins last week over Pleasanton RAGE and the Olympic Club. University of Alabama’s Cameron Silva leads the team with three goals.
7	FC Olympia (3-0-0) Next match: vs. Lane United FC, 6/05 7:00 p.m. PT	2 Last Week: 9	FC Olympia has taken care of business three matches in a row, with the last two wins coming on the road. UCF forward Honoka Hamano scored one minute into the match and added two assists in Olympia’s win over Capital FC Athletica.
8	AHFC Royals (4-0-0) Next match: @ Challenge SC, 6/04 7:00 p.m. CT	7 Last Week: 15	AHFC Royals have been the ones to look out for in the new Lone Star Division. Oklahoma State’s Adelhia Ghonda recorded a hat trick in the Royals’ victory on Saturday, helping the team to its fourth win and bringing its goal differential to +21.
9	Indy Eleven (4-0-1) Next match: vs. Racing Louisville, 6/07 7:00 p.m. CT	3 Last Week: 12	The 2023 W League champs have restaked their claim at the top of the Valley Division after earning three consecutive dominant wins. Clemson goalkeeper Nona Reason appeared in goal for the first time this season and secured back-to-back clean sheets, while six different field players have scored three or more goals so far.
10	NC Courage U23 (3-0-1) Next match: @ Charlotte Eagles, 6/08 6:00 p.m. ET		Last year’s runners-up are right on Indy’s trail after they also won their third match in a row on Saturday. Four different scorers contributed to NC Courage’s 4-0 victory over Wake FC, giving the team its first home win of the season.
