W League Power Rankings: Week 5

California Storm, NC Courage make debuts in top 10

Multiple clubs remain undefeated as we enter the second half of the 2024 W League season. Tennessee SC, Florida Elite and Detroit City once again come in at the top three spots of the Power Rankings, while California Storm and NC Courage U23 make their first appearances on the list.

Detroit City earned its fourth straight win after defeating Cleveland Force 1-0 at home last weekend. Le Rouge fired over 20 shots during the match, but the blast from Sophia Romine nearly 30 yards out proved to be the game winner and enough to move the team to the top of the Great Lakes Division.

Eagle FC continues to shine as one of the most well-rounded clubs in the league. It remains the only club yet to concede a goal this season, while 10 different players have scored the team’s 20 goals from the past four matches.
5 Long Island Rough Riders

The Rough Riders have earned four straight victories all against different opponents to start the season. They are averaging eight goals per match, led by league leader Lucianna Setteducate with nine goals.
6 California Storm

California Storm have climbed to the top of the NorCal Division after earning two wins last week over Pleasanton RAGE and the Olympic Club. University of Alabama’s Cameron Silva leads the team with three goals.

AHFC Royals have been the ones to look out for in the new Lone Star Division. Oklahoma State’s Adelhia Ghonda recorded a hat trick in the Royals’ victory on Saturday, helping the team to its fourth win and bringing its goal differential to +21.

The 2023 W League champs have restaked their claim at the top of the Valley Division after earning three consecutive dominant wins. Clemson goalkeeper Nona Reason appeared in goal for the first time this season and secured back-to-back clean sheets, while six different field players have scored three or more goals so far.
10 NC Courage U23

Last year’s runners-up are right on Indy’s trail after they also won their third match in a row on Saturday. Four different scorers contributed to NC Courage’s 4-0 victory over Wake FC, giving the team its first home win of the season.
