We’re another week through the W League season, meaning another week full of amazing performances, incredible goals and even guest appearances. Check out some of these storylines from Week 6:
Oakland fans had an unforgettable Saturday watching the Soul and Roots take home wins in their doubleheader at Pioneer Stadium. Oakland Soul forward Jordan Geis put on a show for the fans during the first match of the day, scoring four second-half goals to help earn the 6-2 victory. The UCLA commit became the first player in organization history to score four goals in a single match.

W League players showed up and showed out this past weekend in the inaugural Women’s TST in Cary, NC. South Georgia Tormenta’s Momo Nakao had a goal and an assist in Streetball FC’s first match of the tournament. Olympia FC’s Mariah Lee scored a banger from her own half for the Angel City 7s. Finally, Racing Louisville’s Tessa Dellarose scored a brace in the semi-finals to help the US Women advance to the championship and have a shot at the $1 million prize.

Minnesota Aurora clinched a 2-1 win over Rochester FC on Thursday in front of a packed TCO Stadium. One of the 5,045 fans was none other than Jalen Suggs, shooting guard for the Orlando Magic. Suggs, who is from Saint Paul, Minnesota, returned to his home state to watch the thrilling game and show support for Rochester midfielder Emmy Ellington.

On Friday, 2022 W League champion and Finals MVP Sydney Martinez became the first signing for Brooklyn FC of the USL Super League. The star goalkeeper from the University of South Florida had an amazing season with South Georgia Tormenta that year, earning the Golden Glove Award after recording six clean sheets and a goals-against average of 0.58.
