W League Power Rankings: Week 7

There’s less than two weeks left in the 2024 W League regular season, and many teams are still holding strong. Detroit City FC and Morris Elite both move up the ranks after having strong performances against other teams at the top of their respective divisions. San Francisco Glens SC makes its first appearance in the Power Rankings this season after earning its seventh win of the summer.

For the second time this season, Detroit City has bounced back from a scoreless draw with an impressive win at home over another top team in the Great Lakes Division. Le Rouge fought back against a late Midwest United comeback on Saturday to win 2-1 at Keyworth Stadium. It moved the team back to the top of the division and three points ahead of second-place Kalamazoo FC.
3 AHFC Royals

The Royals became the second club to clinch a postseason berth after earning their eighth win of the season last weekend. The team posted its fifth shutout and brought their goal total to 36 after defeating SA Athenians 7-0. They have two more home matches to conclude the season and shoot for a perfect record.
4 Eagle FC

Eagle FC remains undefeated after picking up a draw and a win last week. The team finished its four-match road stint with a thrilling 3-3 draw against Christos FC before returning home to claim a 2-0 win over Richmond Ivy. Eagle will look to start a winning streak on Tuesday as it hosts Virginia Mauraders FC.
5 FC Olympia

The Artesians continue to dominate the Northwest Division, as they picked up their seventh straight win of the season on Sunday. Oregon State’s McKenna Martinez and Baylor’s Hannah Boughton scored braces in the victory over Lane United FC. Their next match against second-place United PDX will be a must-watch as the two sides battle for the top of the division.
6 Morris Elite SC

Morris Elite came out with four points last week from two strong performances, including a match up with Metropolitan rival Long Island Rough Riders. UMass defender Juliana Ryan and Rutgers attacker Sam Kroeger responded with two second-half goals to tie up the match and keep the edge over the Rough Riders within the division. Morris Elite has another match on Wednesday to extend its first-place lead before facing Long Island again..
7 California Storm

Cal Storm was another club to steal a point through a second-half comeback last week. TCU star Cam Lancaster and Stanford forward Erica Grilione helped the Storm to a 2-2 draw against NorCal foe Oakland Soul. Cal Storm is just one point behind the first-place SF Glens as the top four teams are in a tight race for playoff spots with four matches remaining.
8 Tennessee SC

Tennessee SC remains undefeated but dropped points last week against SSA Swarm. Despite a strong performance in the first half, the team couldn’t hold on to the lead and was on the other side of a second-half comeback to draw 2-2. Tennessee will look to get back to its winning ways with its next match against Athens United on Wednesday.
9 Long Island Rough Riders

Next match: vs. Paisley Athletic FC, 6/19 7:00 p.m. ET

The Rough Riders cruised to six straight wins to start the season but have recorded back-to-back draws to drop out of first place in the Metropolitan Division. They have the same record as Morris Elite but fall behind in goal differential. To regain the top spot, Long Island will need a strong showing on Wednesday against Paisley Athletic FC, who came back to draw 4-4 when the teams met up last week.
10 Minnesota Aurora FC

Minnesota Aurora has cracked the top 10 for the first time this season, as it has gone on a four-match winning streak. The team earned a road win over Rochester FC before hosting Chicago Dutch Lions on Sunday, where six different players got on the scoresheet. Aurora will play Bavarian United and Chicago City this week in its last two home matches of the regular season.
