The third USL W League 2024 regular season award was announced on Wednesday. Lancaster Inferno’s Stephanie Cleaves won Coach of the Year after guiding the Pennsylvania-based team to the playoffs in its first season in the W League.
This summer was Stephanie’s second season with Lancaster Inferno, which formerly played in the UWS. Stephanie, along with assistant coaches Wendell Hannaford, Adam Johnny Morris and Chris Weibel, led the team to a record of 10-1-1 and a second-place finish in the competitive Mid-Atlantic Division. Lancaster scored 50 goals while allowing only seven during the regular season.
"I’m beyond grateful for our ownership, sponsors, and supporters as we celebrated our 10th year of operating our pre-professional team this season. I am proud to be part of a league that is invested in promoting the women’s game at all levels. I look forward to building on our success as we continue to strive towards our goal of winning a national title.”
Stay tuned for later this week when the final two regular season awards, Defender and Young Player of the Year, will be announced.
