USL W League announces 2024 Team of the Year

17 clubs represented in both First and Second Team of the Year

The USL W League today announced the 2024 Team of the Year, honoring the standout performers from the past campaign. Seventeen clubs and all 12 divisions are represented among the 22 honorees.  

The 2024 W League champions NC Courage U23 have three honorees among the First Team and Second Team, and finalist Colorado Storm have two. Detroit City FC and Oakland Soul SC are the two other clubs with multiple honorees. 

The USL W League Team of the Year was selected based on individual player performances throughout both the regular season and postseason. 

USL W League Team of the Year First Team

GK: Gabby Schriver (Detroit City FC) - This season’s Golden Glove winner was the anchor of Detroit City’s defense. Schriver posted a goals-against average of 0.294 in the regular season, and she recorded over 1100 minutes in goal to help Le Rouge make an appearance in the National Semifinal. 

D: Ryelle Shuey (Lancaster Inferno) - In her first season in the W League, Lancaster Inferno defender Ryelle Shuey made her presence known on the field. She recorded 1170 minutes played, one goal and one assist from the backline to help the expansion team earn a postseason berth. 

D: Georgia Brown (Florida Elite Soccer Academy) - University of South Florida defender Georgia Brown was unstoppable this season. The 2024 W League Defender of the Year helped Florida Elite to a perfect regular season, including eight shutouts and conceded only six goals. 

D: Ella Offer (Detroit City FC) - Outside back Ella Offer was a keystone in the Detroit City defense that allowed only 8 goals in the regular and postseason. Offer tallied over 850 minutes on the field and had two assists, including one in the 3-1 victory in the Central Conference Final. 

D: Kayleigh Herr (NC Courage U23) - The Penn State centerback had another phenomenal season with NC Courage U23, leading the team to its first title. Herr played over 1200 minutes and scored five goals, including the first in the 2-1 win that sent the Courage to the W League Final. 

M: Katie Duong (Minnesota Aurora FC) - Former Stanford star Katie Duong was one of Minnesota Aurora’s key offensive players this season, helping the team complete its third straight undefeated regular season. The midfielder finished the summer with nine goals and 11 assists before joining DC Power FC of the USL Super League.

M: Alexis Meyer (Colorado Storm) - University of Alabama midfielder Alexis Meyer played a huge role in Colorado Storm advancing to the W League Final in its first season. Meyer logged over 1100 minutes and two goals and made an appearance in all 16 of the Storm’s matches this season. 

M: Anna Haddock (Tennessee SC) - Auburn standout Anna Haddock had another incredible season with Tennessee SC this summer. The midfielder finished the campaign with 11 goals and 11 assists, helping the team make it all the way to the National Semifinal. 

M: Zoe Main (AHFC Royals) - Mississippi State Bulldog Zoe Main was a key player in AHFC Royals’ success in its first W League season. The midfielder led the team with eight goals and started all 11 matches played to help them earn a perfect 10-0-0 regular season record. 

F: Luciana Setteducate (Long Island Rough Riders) - The Stony Brook striker was unstoppable in her debut W League season. Setteducate won the 2024 W League Golden Boot after scoring 19 goals this season, including one in the Rough Riders’ first-ever postseason win. 

F: Ivy Garner (NC Courage U23) - Liberty University forward Ivy Garner was another NC Courage U23 returnee that helped the team take home the title this year. Garner had 14 starts and scored seven goals, including one in each of the first two playoff matches. 

USL W League Team of the Year Second Team

GK: Adelyn Todd (Colorado Storm) - Florida State goalkeeper Adelyn Todd played a huge role in the success of Colorado Storm this season. Todd allowed only three goals in 745 minutes of play to earn a goals-against average of 0.362 in the regular season. She recorded two more shutouts in the playoffs. 

D: Lucy Fazackerley (Eagle FC) - The English defender was the heart of Eagle FC’s backline and helped the team secure the top spot in the Mid Atlantic Division. Fazackerley logged over 900 minutes and assisted in the team recording eight shutouts. 

D: Alyssa Bourgeois (California Storm) - Before heading to Spokane Zephyr in the USL Super League, Alyssa Bourgeois had a great spell with California Storm. The outside back started eight matches and recorded two goals and 720 minutes played. 

D: Jenna Butler (Carolina Ascent) - The NC State alum held down the backline for Carolina Ascent this season, starting in all 10 matches played. Butler recorded two goals and three assists while helping the team record six shutouts. 

M: Macey Bader (NC Courage U23) - Macey Bader continued to shine for NC Courage U23 in her third season with the team. The UNC Charlotte forward finished the summer with eight goals, and her goal and assist in the Final earned her the 2024 W League Final MVP award. 

M: Sam Tran (Oakland Soul SC) - Stanford alum Sam Tran brought a veteran presence to Oakland Soul in her second year with the team. The midfielder had three goals, three assists and started eight of her nine matches played. 

M: Ella Rogers (Indy Eleven) - Captain Ella Rogers led 2023 W League champions Indy Eleven to another great season, helping the team to a 7-1-2 finish and its third straight division title. The midfielder recorded six goals in 11 matches, totaling 796 minutes of play. 

M: Ilana Izquierdo (Asheville City SC) - The Mississippi State Bulldog started in nine matches to help Asheville City earn its first playoff berth in club history. Izquierdo recorded five goals and an assist in the regular season, and she also assisted both goals in the team’s 2-1 comeback win in the Southern Conference Semifinals. 

F: Shae Murison (Oakland Soul SC) - Former UCSB standout Shae Murison was on fire for Oakland this summer. The striker started 10 of her 11 matches played and finished with eight goals, including a first-half hat trick in the Soul’s last regular season match to send the team to the playoffs. 

F: McKenna Martinez (FC Olympia) - Oregon State striker McKenna Martinez helped FC Olympia finish atop the Northwest Division for the second straight year. Martinez scored eight goals in the nine matches played, including a goal in the 2-1 win in the first round of the playoffs. 

F: Abby Droner (Paisley Athletic FC) - The 2024 W League Young Player of the Year led Paisley Athletic’s attack this summer. The 17-year-old scored 12 goals this summer, tying for second in the league, and started all 10 matches played, totaling 861 minutes on the field.
