Santa Clarita, Ca. & Tampa, Fla. – The United Soccer League announced today that SC Blue Heat will compete in the USL W League starting in the 2025 season.
SC Blue Heat was established in 2010, with the goal of helping to grow women’s soccer and providing opportunities and a pathway for the upcoming generation of female players. The club places value in “quality against quantity,” looking to offer their players with the best possible growth, staff, and experience to help them grow and reach new heights.
"We are extremely excited to be joining such a prestigious and growing league in North America, especially in the SoCal regions,” said SC Blue Heat Sporting Director and Club Owner Carlos Marroquin. “With our vision of quality against quantity and an amazing reputation and staff from across the league, we look forward to generating success within this league, and continuing to help grow the women’s game in the U.S.”
SC Blue Heat will play its home matches in Santa Clarita, California, as a member of the Western Conference.
“SC Blue Heat have been a staple for the development of the women’s game in southern California for a long time, and we could not be more excited to welcome them to the W League,” said Joel Nash, SVP of Youth and Pre-Professional Properties. “The club has shown a clear commitment to supporting local talent, and being set in a community so passionate about the sport, it’s a great opportunity for the league to grow.”
Marroquin will lead the club in its inaugural campaign as the team’s head coach, sporting director, and owner.
