West Seattle Rhodies to join USL W League in 2025

The Rhodies continue to grow the W League's footprint in the Pacific Northwest

Seattle, Wa. & Tampa, Fla. – The United Soccer League announced today that West Seattle Rhodies FC will compete in the USL W League beginning in the 2025 season. The club will act as the W League counterpart to USL League Two’s West Seattle Junction FC.

West Seattle Rhodies FC will be entering its inaugural season as a club with a commitment to empowering women in soccer by creating a platform where players, coaches, and leaders can grow and thrive together. Their crest features the resilient rhododendrons, a flower with a long history in Seattle, that also serves as the symbol of the club.

Rooted in the vibrant West Seattle community, the club aims to foster a culture of inclusivity, excellence, and shared growth, building lasting connections through the beautiful game. Their mission is to develop the next generation of female athletes, inspire local pride, and establish themselves as a competitive force in the USL W League.

“We are beyond excited to embark on this new journey with the USL W League and bring West Seattle Rhodies FC to life,” said the club’s Co-Owner and Chief Marketing Officer Marissa Villegas. “This is a remarkable opportunity to elevate the talent and passion of our community on a national platform, while creating pathways for women to thrive in soccer. West Seattle Rhodies FC will play their home matches in Seattle, Washington, as a member of the Northwest Division.

“Washington has been a long-time hotspot for women’s soccer in the United States, so we are excited to welcome the West Seattle Rhodies to the W League,” said Joel Nash, SVP of Youth and Pre-Professional Properties. “The club’s ownership group, led by strong female executives, have set clear goals in empowering their players, staff, and the larger West Seattle community, so we are thrilled for them to join the league.”
