Utica, Mi. & Tampa, Fla. – The United Soccer League announced today that Union FC Macomb will join the USL W League for the 2025 season. The club recently joined USL League Two in 2024.

The club was founded on its mission to advance the development of both women's and men's soccer players in Michigan, creating pathways for success at the collegiate, professional and national team levels. Union FC is committed to fostering excellence, integrity and passion for the sport by building programs that elevate the game and empower athletes to reach their full potential on and off the field.

“We are honored to join the USL W League, marking an exciting milestone as we expand upon our USL League Two men’s program and strengthen our commitment to elevating opportunities in soccer for both women and men throughout Macomb County, the Detroit Metro area, and Michigan,” said Gronthik Chatterjee, club CEO and President. “The W League provides an exceptional platform for development, competition, and inspiration, perfectly aligning with our vision to advance the women's game while furthering the growth of soccer in our community and beyond."

The club is involved in the community and is an advocate for equity and inclusion for players in the Detroit metro area. Union FC partners with nonprofit organization Kids in Communities Count (KICK) to provide funds and resources that help ensure children and young adults with a passion for soccer have the opportunity to play, regardless of financial barriers.

“We’re very excited to have Union FC Macomb expand into the W League,” said Joel Nash, SVP of Youth and Pre-Professional Properties. “The level of talent in Michigan and the Detroit metro area continues to grow, so we’re delighted to help Union FC achieve its mission of providing a competitive and developmental environment for its female athletes.”
