Rancho Cordova, Calif. & Tampa, Fla. – The United Soccer League announced today that San Juan Soccer Club will join USL League Two and the USL W League beginning in the 2025 season.

The club was formed in 1978 as a small youth soccer operation, and has since risen to national prominence as a top organization. In the club’s 46 years, it has routinely churned out top talent and earned national recognition as one of the nation’s premier development programs.

Their mission is to bring along young players and develop them as people, as well as players. The club sees its pre-professional program as an extension of their full pathway both on the field and off it as they prepare their players for a successful life, as well as a career.

“Today is more than a milestone; it is a moment that redefines what is possible for San Juan Soccer Club and the Northern California soccer community,” San Juan SC Executive Director Zeca Neto said. “Being awarded a women’s pre-professional franchise is not just about adding a team; it is about belief. A belief that the women’s game deserves more, more opportunities, more recognition, and more pathways to the highest levels. And now, being awarded a men’s pre-professional franchise at the very same time, the vision comes full circle.”

San Juan SC Board of Director President Ron Trengove says, “This is not just expansion; it is a revolution. It is proof that every player, boy or girl, deserves a place where their dreams don’t just live, but thrive. Northern California is not just a piece of the soccer landscape; it is becoming the epicenter.”

San Juan SC will compete in the Nor Cal divisions in both League Two and the W League.

"San Juan SC has a deep-rooted history in Northern California, and we’re really thrilled to bring them on board,” USL Senior Vice President of Youth and Pre-Professional Properties, Joel Nash, said. “It’s incredibly exciting to see this division grow so quickly in both of our leagues, and San Juan will make a fantastic addition to the competition there.”
