Irvine, CA & Tampa, FL - The United Soccer League announced today that OC Sporting FC will join the USL W League beginning in the 2025 season.
OC Sporting FC is a new soccer club born from the Ryan Lemmon Foundation, a nonprofit organization providing sports opportunities in Orange County for nearly 30 years. A soccer-specific department was created in 2022 and now has boys' and girls' teams competing across the country. The foundation and club’s mission is to use sports as a vehicle for youth athletes to become productive citizens.
“The USL W League is a great pathway for local players to reach their next levels,” said Dick Owens, RLF Executive Director. “We are excited to see the local high school and college stars compete as they further their development.”
OC Sporting and RLF are also dedicated to giving back to the Orange County community. The club participates in activations such as Tiny Tot and Jr Academy soccer training programs and volunteering at local parks and soccer complexes across the county.
OC Sporting FC will play its home matches at University High School in Irvine, California, as a member of the SoCal Division.
"OC Sporting FC’s addition to the USL W League reflects the club’s commitment to nurturing local talent and building a stronger soccer community," said Joel Nash, USL SVP of Youth and Pre-Professional Properties. "With a foundation built on decades of service to Orange County, OC Sporting is not just creating opportunities for players on the field but shaping future leaders off it."
