W League Team of the Month: May 2025

Nine divisions represented in May's best XI

The USL W League announced its Team of the Month for May, highlighting players for their incredible performances last month.  

Eleven different clubs across nine divisions are represented in the team, with six more players featured on the bench. Sporting JAX’s Aaliyah Faddoul was named Player of the Month after leading the Florida-based team to the top of the Southeast Division.

GK: Jaddah Foos, SC United Bantams – The Georgia State goalkeeper provided a steady presence between the sticks, recording two clean sheets and conceding only one goal in three appearances for the Bantams last month.  

D: Julianna Hill, AFC Ann Arbor – Hill held firm in AFC Ann Arbor’s backline in four matches played, helping the team to remain undefeated throughout May. Hill also showed her offensive capabilities when she scored the equalizer leading to Ann Arbor’s 2-1 victory over Detroit City.  

D: Kaitlyn Richins, Utah United – Richins started all four matches in May for Utah United, keeping tight defensive lines to earn three clean sheets. Richins also frequently got involved in the attack, making key plays forward to contribute to Utah’s 25 goals. 

D: Peyton Leonard, Capo FC – The Pepperdine center back played a significant role in Capo FC’s first month in the W League, recording four clean sheets and conceding only one goal. Leonard also proved an attacking threat, scoring Capo’s first goal of the season in a 2-0 victory over AMSG FC.  

M: Mika Sayfurhman, Stockton Cargo – Sayfurhman was a key part of Stockton’s successful first month, starting all five matches for Cargo in May. The midfielder, formerly of the Afghanistan Women’s National Team, scored three goals to help the team remain undefeated.  

M: Cat Rapp, Minnesota Aurora FC – The Colorado native continues to lead Aurora in her fourth year with the team, scoring three goals in three starts in May to extend Minnesota's undefeated regular season record.  

M: Grace Ivey, NC Courage U23 – In her three appearances last month, the Auburn Tiger scored three goals to contribute to the reigning champs’ incredible start to the season. Ivey netted the critical game-winning goal in the 1-0 victory over Charlotte Eagles on May 28.  

M: Kennedy Clark, Kings Hammer FC Cincinnati – Clark’s attacking prowess has led Kings Hammer FC Cincinnati to the top of the Valley Division. The Texas A&M Aggie scored four goals in three appearances, including a brace in the team’s opening 3-3 draw against Racing Louisville.  

F: Ginny Lackey, FC Olympia – Lackey netted a team-high six goals for FC Olympia in its three matches last month. The English youth international recorded a brace and a hat trick to extend FC Olympia's undefeated run in the regular season.  

F: Aaliyah Faddoul, Sporting JAX – The Georgia State Panther scored seven goals across four appearances in May. Faddoul kicked off Sporting JAX’s undefeated month by scoring its first two goals of the season in a 2-0 victory over Tallahassee Reckoning. 

F: Jolie Farmer, San Juan SC – The Penn State striker found the back of the net seven times in her first four starts for San Juan SC this season. Farmer scored a brace in the 5-1 victory over the Olympia Club and earned the critical goal in the 1-1 draw against Stockton Cargo.  

Bench: Hannah Crum (Detroit City FC), Sabba Haghgoo (Annapolis Blues FC), Gabrielle Koluch (Cedar Stars), Bella Vozar (Pittsburgh Riveters SC), Ashley Henderson (Eagle FC), Phoebe Hollin (Asheville City SC)
