USL W League announces 2025 All-League Teams

16 clubs represented across First and Second Team

The USL W League today announced the 2025 All-League First and Second Teams, honoring the standout performers from the past campaign. Sixteen clubs and all 15 divisions are represented among the 22 honorees.    

The 2025 W League champions Utah United lead all teams with four players named to both the First and Second Team. NC Courage U23, Annapolis Blues FC and Minnesota Aurora FC all have two players across both teams.  

The USL W League All-League Teams were selected based on individual player performances throughout both the regular season and postseason.   

All-League First Team

GK: Caroline Duffy (Annapolis Blues FC) - The Oklahoma Sooner excelled in goal for the Blues this season, contributing to seven clean sheets and conceding only three goals in 10 appearances. The goalkeeper recorded a 0.39 goals-against average and made huge saves to keep a shutout in regulation of both playoff matches. 

D: Charley Boone (Minnesota Aurora FC) - The 2025 Defender of the Year played over 1,000 minutes on Minnesota’s backline this season, helping the team to 10 clean sheets and conceding just five goals. Boone’s presence on defense helped Aurora advance to the National Semifinal for the first time in three years after earning back-to-back shutouts in the first two rounds of the playoffs. 

D: Maia Soulis (Detroit City FC) - The Ohio University Bobcat was a strong defensive presence for Le Rouge all season, starting all nine of her matches played for a total of 719 minutes on the field. She helped Detroit to a 7-2-1 regular season record to secure its second straight Great Lakes Division title.  

D: Kaitlyn Richins (Utah United) - Richins logged over 1,000 minutes through regular and postseason play for Utah United this summer. The UCONN defender helped the team to a nearly perfect playoff run to the league title, conceding just one goal and finishing the season with three consecutive clean sheets. 

M: Emily Banashefski (Eagle FC) - The La Salle University midfielder started all 11 matches played this summer, totalling 832 minutes of action. Banashefski found the back of the net three times, helping Eagle FC win the Mid Atlantic Division for the third year in a row. 

M: Lilliah Blum (Utah United) - Blum was a key piece in Utah United’s championship run this summer, scoring six goals across 10 matches. The midfielder scored the third goal in the Final against NC Courage U23 after entering the match at halftime to secure the win. 

M: Mika Sayfurahman (Stockton Cargo SC) - The Afghanistan international was one of Stockton Cargo’s top goal scorers this season, netting six goals in her 14 matches played. Sayfurahman’s attacking prowess aided Stockton to clinch its first playoff berth and NorCal Division title.  

M: Grace Ivey (NC Courage U23) - The Auburn Tiger played a critical role on both the attacking and defensive ends this season, helping the team to its third-consecutive undefeated regular season. Ivey’s fifth goal of the campaign was the late game-winner in the 2-1 victory over Asheville City to send the Courage to its third W League Final. 

F: Seven Castain (Utah United) - The 2025 Golden Boot winner was unstoppable in the attacking third for Utah United in its inaugural season, finding the back of the net 17 times during the regular season. Castain scored four additional goals in the playoffs, including a brace in the 2-1 win against FC Olympia in the Western Conference Semifinal.  

F: Aaliyah Faddoul (Sporting JAX) - The Georgia State Panther was one of the top goal scorers in the league this season, recording 13 goals across nine matches. Faddoul was the May Player of the Month and led Sporting JAX to another Southeast Division title. 

F: Kelsey Smith (Annapolis Blues FC) - Smith started 10 of 11 matches played and led Annapolis with six goals this summer. The striker netted both goals in the 2-0 win in the team's first playoff appearance to advance to the Eastern Conference Final.

All-League Second Team

GK: Taylor Rath (Utah United) - The Las Vegas native proved to be one of the most dominant goalkeepers in the league, logging over 900 minutes and seven clean sheets this summer. Rath made multiple key saves throughout the playoffs to lead Utah United to the league title in its first season. 

D: Peyton Leonard (Capo FC) - Leonard was a cornerstone in Capo’s defense during its inaugural season. The Pepperdine center back recorded five clean sheets this season while finding the back of the net twice to lead the team to an 8-2-0 record and second-place finish in the SoCal Division.  

D: Abby Townsend (Kings Hammer FC Cincinnati) - The outside back contributed on both ends of the field for Kings Hammer this season. Townsend recorded three goals in 10 appearances and played every minute in the team’s first-ever playoff game to defeat Detroit City 2-1 in the Central Conference Semifinal. 

D: Abi Hugh (Pittsburgh Riveters) - Hugh played a large role in the Riveters’ success in its inaugural season, starting all 10 matches played for 862 minutes of action. The midfielder led Pittsburgh to a 6-1-3 record and Great Forest title while conceding a division-fewest nine goals. 

D: Taylor Chism (NC Courage U23) - The veteran defender makes her first All-League team after leading the NC Courage U23 to another final. Chism played over 1,000 minutes this summer and added three goals to her stats, including the equalizer in the 2-1 win over Eagle FC in the Eastern Conference Semifinal. 

M: Samantha DeGuzman (TLH Reckoning) - The Virginia Tech Hokie played in all 11 matches for Tallahassee this summer, finding the back of the net six times. DeGuzman also contributed to six clean sheets to boost the Reckoning to a second-place finish in the Southeast Division and its first playoffs appearance.  

M: Catherine Rapp (Minnesota Aurora FC) - Rapp continued to shine in her fourth season with Minnesota, starting 10 of 13 matches and recording five goals. The Colorado native represented Aurora in the May Team of the Month, highlighting the hot start that saw Rapp lead the team to its fourth-consecutive Heartland Division title. 

M: Helen Alormenu (Lonestar SC) - The Ghanian midfielder slotted home six goals in her 10 appearances for Lonestar this season. The Texas State Bobcat also aided in the defense that saw the fewest conceded goals in its division (9), helping the team make its W League playoff debut. 

F: Addison Halpern (Paisley Athletic FC) - The 2025 Young Player of the Year scored eight of Paisley’s 28 goals this season, including a hattrick in a 5-3 win over Hudson Valley Crusaders and a brace in the 6-0 victory over Manhattan SC. The University of Virginia commit’s efforts bolstered Paisley to a second-place finish in the Metropolitan Division.  

F: Ginny Lackey (FC Olympia) - Lackey was phenomenal on the attacking end this summer, as her 11 goals accounted for a third of FC Olympia’s total. Lackey’s skills assisted in clinching the team’s third-consecutive Northwest Division title and playoff berth.  

F: Emma Sheehan (Asheville City SC) - Sheehan was one of many strong attacking options for Asheville City, netting eight goals in 12 appearances. The striker scored in all three playoff matches, leading the team to its most successful W League season in its four years.
